RiverTown Church is searching for a talented Worship Pastor who will be responsible for leading, designing, and developing our on going worship experiences. If you are a dynamic leader who loves Jesus, pursues excellence and enjoys leading in a band setting then this might be the opportunity for you.
RiverTown Church is a fun and growing church set in the heartland of Georgia with a mission to reach far beyond our community. AFLAC Insurance Company, Synovus Financial Services, Carmike Cinemas, and Total System Services are all national companies that call Columbus home. Columbus State University attracts students from all over the world and gives the students who are from here a chance to stay here and receive a world-class education. Fort Benning, on our city’s southern border, has always been the home of the Infantry and is now the new home of all Armored and Cavalry training. Our community includes our beautiful Alabama suburb, Phenix City, on the west side of our RiverTown reaches all the way to prestigious Auburn University. This bustling metro region now reaches beyond 350,000 people. Most of these are unchurched and need to hear the timeless Gospel in a new and powerful way through music that touches their souls.
The successful candidate will love Jesus and others, will have strong vocal ability, and be able to lead with guitar or keyboard. They will take the lead in developing and arranging music for weekly worship and special events. They will develop, schedule, and lead worship bands while cultivating new musicians for additional bands and will work with artists, technicians, designers, and others to lead the church in worship.
The Worship Pastor will be responsible for leading and developing other leaders for future expansion. They will work with creative teams and pastors to create relevant worship experiences, overseeing series set designs, lighting design, multi-media elements, streaming, and sound engineering. The Worship Pastor is also expected to provide pastoral care for all volunteers and leaders in the scope of the ministry.

This position fulfills our mission of “Transforming lives into the likeness of Jesus Christ” by effectively leading a worship ministry as part of an overall church discipleship strategy of connecting with Believers and Non-believers, helping them to Belong in at RiverTown Church and Become servants of God.
Christian Character:
A spiritually maturing person with a daily walk with God and role model of lifestyle holiness according to the Bible. This includes a practice of daily personal worship times, sharing one’s faith, a commitment to personal and group bible study and tithing. A loyal commitment to the family, future, mission and reputation of RiverTown Church, its members, and Pastoral leaders is also a must.
Leadership:
This is a leadership position to facilitate worship experiences. This position is responsible for systems as well as teaching, training, and the discipling of others.

Qualities:

2. A personal love of and understanding of culture and the arts.
3. A very resourceful person who is able to solve problems using people and resources effectively from within the church and their own network.
4. A positive person who is able to give critical feedback in a way that is easy to receive.
5. A person able to speak the languages of pastor, instrumentalist, singer, computer tech, audio tech, worship leader, church member, etc.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead, train and coordinate worship leaders and staff in Programming and Planning for all adult worship services.
2. Lead, train, and coordinate band members to ensure musicians are recruited, discipled, trained and accountable.
3. Lead, train and coordinate production and technical volunteers and staff in all aspects of audio and video.
4. Take part in weekly staff meetings and training meetings and follow through on training assignments.
5. Plan and lead rehearsals with appropriate input, training, coaching, systems development, and accountability as needed.
6. Be responsible under the Senior Pastor of all aspects of the worship service flow, participants and timing during services. The goal is to be Holy Spirit led in the execution of the planning and execution of the worship experience.
7. Communicate needs and expectations thoroughly to facilitate the best teamwork atmosphere. This would include a weekly reporting of progress toward above goals to the Senior Pastor.
